If you haven't heard of NetOps before, don't worry. It's a new term in the data center, but it could fundamentally change the way network administrators handle their jobs. To help, the editors of Network Computing are offering a useful guide.

Please join Editor-in-Chief Susan Fogarty and Jeremy Schulman, a 20-year veteran of the networking industry, as they discuss NetOps, DevOps, and much more this Wednesday, September 3, at noon EDT (9:00 a.m. PDT), during a special broadcast of Network Computing Radio.

Click here to register for the show or to learn more about Network Computing. In addition to Wednesday's broadcast, stick around and check out the live chat on the Network Computing site.

Schulman is the founder of Schprockits, a network automation startup operating in stealth mode right now, and he'll talk on Wednesday about NetOps, DevOps, and whether networking professionals need to learn programming in order to remain employed. He'll also talk about automation and its role in the future of networks and IT in general.

If you want to hear more from Schulman, and other IT leaders live and in person, please register to attend the 2014 Interop conference in New York City, which kicks off September 29 and runs through October 3, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The Interop conference offers a unique opportunity to help you connect with your IT colleagues, help your career take off, and learn how technology is changing the way business is done. You can find more information about Interop New York and the show speakers, as well as the registration page, here.

Schulman's session at the New York Interop show is titled: " 'Parley!' – The Rules of Network Automation," and is scheduled for October 1.
