Ansible and Co-Host of the CloudCast

The CloudCastAaron Delp(@aarondelp) had me on the Episode #95 of the CloudCast as a special co-host with AnsibleWorks founder, Michael DeHaan(@laserllama). Michael is somewhat of a cult open source systems management hero if there is such a thing a she has developed the popular Linux provisioning tool, Cobbler.

His latest project Ansible is a centralized automation tool that lends itself to controlling large numbers of systems simultaneously by leveraging protocols already present on systems specifically ssh. Requiring no software to be installed on remote nodes, the callback solution can be triggered via a simple call to ‘curl’ or ‘wget’, and is easily embeddable in init scripts, kickstarts, or preseeds.

Ansible helps enable configuration management, application delivery and continuos deployment of infrastructure. This approach is very in vogue with the movement of Devops and is worth a look.
