This Week in Cloud Update

Starting in August, we will be changing the name of This Week in Cloud to TechViews in order to cover other trends in addition to cloud computing, such as mobility, big data, and DevOps. Cloud News

  • A recent study by Compuware reported that cloud remains the highest IT investment priority and will continue to be the highest priority over the next five years, according to this Cloud Tech article. Four out of five companies also revealed that they were worried about the potential hidden costs of cloud computing.

  • PricewaterhouseCoopers recently conducted a report of 115 financial service executives from 11 countries of which 71% revealed that they planned to invest more in cloud in 2013, which is up from 18% last year, according to this AmericanBanker article.

  • A new report by Ovum, Cloud: Transforming the IAM Industry, discusses how cloud technology is changing the way identity management services will be consumed over the next two years, according to this Cloud Tech article. The report also provides insight as to how organizations can understand the changing dynamics of the IAM market.
